The highlights of this trek are the six sacred, emerald-green lakes of Gokyo, sitting quietly beneath the massive peak of Cho Oyu. From the small lakeside village of Gokyo, you will trek up to the viewpoint at Gokyo Ri. Many experienced travelers argue that the view from Gokyo Ri is better than the one from Base Camp, as it lets you see four 8,000-meter peaks at once: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.
